Pet Bereavement Counselors:
Ohio

There are literally hundreds of people who are now counseling in pet bereavement, and it is not possible for the APLB to register them all. Some hesitate to be listed in any directory, others are first discovering the benefits of this wonderful service, and many more are still unknown to us. We welcome all new applicants to contact us directly by mail or online at aplb@aplb.org. This listing is arranged according to geographical location. We are pleased that every counselor registered below is a member of the APLB.

I have been a clinical counselor for 16 years and am experienced in working with people struggling with depression, anxiety, chronic and terminal illness and grief and loss issues.

In addition to working with clients in my private practice, I have provided pet bereavement support groups through our local humane society and given numerous educational presentations addressing the difficult decision-making process of euthanasia and coping with the loss of a pet.

I use an integrated approach to counseling, recognizing that the grief process is unique for each person. I focus on providing support while exploring the emotional and possible spiritual relationships between people and their pets and incorporate this into the healing process. I work with children, adolescents and adults.
