Bay Area Veterinary Social Work

Hello and welcome to Bay Area Veterinary Social Work. If you’ve found me, it’s likely because your pet is not doing well and perhaps you’ve received bad news from your pet’s veterinarian and now you’re wondering what to do next. This can be an incredibly overwhelming and painful experience, often resulting in feelings of isolation or disenfranchised grief. I truly wish we could meet under better circumstances, but I am honored to be able to walk alongside you during this impossibly difficult time.

I am an advanced standing clinical social worker with my certification in Veterinary Social Work and I’m also a former veterinary technician. I am certified by the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care to provide advocacy and support to pet owners during the most difficult part of loving a pet. I provide compassionate facilitation of quality of life and goals of care discussions and can be present with you in a clinic or home setting to provide support as you say goodbye to your beloved companion. Each person has their own unique spiritual and cultural values that must be considered and honored during end of life and I am committed to meeting people where they are. I can travel to any clinic or home within the San Francisco Bay Area, and also offer services virtually or by phone.

I provide short-term grief coaching sessions to individuals of all ages and can provide referrals for ongoing mental health support. I do not yet provide individual therapy, but this is an offering that is currently in the works. I’d be happy to direct you to one of my wonderful therapist colleagues if longer-term support is needed.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions. I look forward to serving you and your pet.
