My name is Alexis R. Acevedo, and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Grief Informed Professional and bereaved pet mom to a beautiful furbaby who passed Summer of 2024. I am a licensed professional specializing in grief, pet loss and life transitions. Life doesn’t just change when someone dies, it shifts with breakups, divorce, pet companion loss or shifts, career endings, identity transformations, and all the losses we don’t always have names for.

I work with adults including adults navigating both death-related grief and the complex losses that come with major life changes.

I take a relational approach to therapy, where the connection we build becomes part of the healing. I create space for clients to process their experiences, find their footing, and move forward—not by leaving grief behind, but by learning to carry it differently.
