Herbert was a kind, beautiful, and perceptive Tonkinese boy who left us after a long, happy life. He was my loyal companion and best friend for more than 20 years. We went through all of life’s ups and downs together. He and his sister Evelyn came to me when they were about 3 months old. Yesterday he was suffering, so Evelyn and I had to say goodbye to him. We are devastated, but hope he is at peace, and that he knows how much we will always love him.
