Bio
Little Nellie or as Melanie and I called her the last five years or so, Buzi, was our true gem in our lives. From the day we picked her up in baggage claim at LGA in October of 2014 to the last ten days post her spleen removal surgery due to Hemangiosarcoma (blood vessel cancer), we loved her and told her that daily. But what we didn’t realize until last night when Melanie held her in her arms while the doctor put her to sleep due to a second severe internal bleeding episode, and into the dawn when it felt and still feels that we have lost much more than just a gem, we lost an entire satchel of gems and one that cannot be returned to us. What can return to us and always remain with us are the incredible memories we’ve had with her, whether it was mini vacation at SoHo Beach House to a week in Tulum to the multiple trips to Paris with her by our side and a part of us. We now need to live our lives always thinking about what Buzi would do because she lived by standards and values that even humans can look up to and learn from. Buzi, you are and always will be our Castle of Gems. Thank you for everything, sweetheart.
