Miro

Miro

The best memory was something he did on his own: he was a ‘grinner.’ He learned to smile all on his own, grinning for people he really liked, but never, ever on command. And for a food-motivated dog to turn down treats, he clearly intended his toothy smile to be his thing on his terms.

Bio

An amazing, mixed-breed rescue, Miro (MEE-roh) had fans. A natural show-off, he won most Halloween costume contests (or at least placed in the top 3) – even tolerating hats, In 2015, he was cast in William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” as “This Dog, My Dog,” with 6 scenes in 9 performances. He was a quick learner, achieving an intermediate-level tricks certificate from the AKC, and Miro loved nosework and car rides.

Epitaph

“If tears could build a stairway,
And memories a lane,
I’d walk right up to Heaven
And bring you home again.”

I will always love you.
