We adopted Monte from a pet expo in our area. He was the only cat playing in the 100 degree heat. He is very smart, very sensitive, and gets into everything that he should not.
At the end of 2022, we noticed that he was losing weight and was not acting like himself. Took him to the vet, found out that he was diabetic. But then found out that he wasn’t. So many tests, so much money…..only to come to the conclusion that he has a pituitary tumor. Which is why he is so food aggressive and needs 15 unit of insulin twice a day. The disease has also effected his eye sight and he is mostly blind now.
We call him ‘The Asshole Cat’, because he can’t control himself around food, pees in the hall, poops wherever he wants, and is just a general pain in the ass. But we clean up after him and take the best care of him that we can, because we didn’t just adopt him for the healthy times……
