Bio

Willy, or Sir William Henry Palmer, came to my wife and I as a rescue in November of 2018. His Gotcha Day was November 3, 2018.

Willy was found on the streets of Los Angeles, and brought to a shelter there. It’s in that spot he got his name, Willy, for one eyed Willy. Eventually he found his way to a rescue in Rhode Island, where my wife saw his profile on their site. They kept the name Willy, and when we resuce him, I insisted the name stayed. I felt he had been through so much, his tail didn’t wag right, he had lost an eye, he had unexplained scars on a back leg, and he was so underweight, that he had earned the right to his name.

We had almost six years with the little guy who would become my best friend. Even if I was alone, with him I was never lonely.

He got sick this summer, and it was found to lymphoma. We tried everything, but it wasn’t meant to be.

Willy passed in my arms with my wife cradling his face, in our home, on September 3, 2024. I miss everything about him, and life just is not the same in our house. The quiet is defeaning.
