I can’t choose one, all of them. From waking up in the mornings and carrying him downstairs. To playing with him with his one toy rabbit that was as large as he was. To the sound of his snores when he slept, his sighs, the feeling of comfort in his fur, his kisses and the look of just pure love when he looked at me. I cherish them all.

Bio

Zuzu was my first dog. I always wanted a chihuahua when I was a child, then my first year starting college, I was gifted the greatest present I ever received, him.  I was obsessed with Avatar the Last Airbender at the time and my favorite character was Zuko, which his nickname was Zuzu, when I heard it… I knew it was perfect.

Zuzu gained many nick names over the years, tiny Tim, dudu, little worm, peanut, piglet, frenemy(my sisters fave) little man (my parents fave) and my favorite, Zeus. All which he responded too. He garnered fans everywhere he went. He was also nicked named top dog in our neighborhood by some of the neighbors, one neighborhood, loved seeing him. I wonder if he saw him when Zeus crossed. Vets loved him, the nurses, all praised how he wasn’t a typical chihuahua, I don’t know, but I just know… He was the bestest dog to me.

I was privileged to have his love for 17 wonderful years. He would have been 18 next week. He saw me through all my ups and down, every single heartbreak. All of them except one.. His. I don’t know how to be in a world without him. I don’t know who I am without him. But I have to learn. It was his time to go and I had to let him go and be with his cousins. I miss him so much.

I gladly bear the grief and pain of missing you for the rest of life when I was blessed to have loved you all of yours.

I love you Zuzu, until I can see you again.
