Grief About Pets, LLC (GAPs)
GAPs has teamed up with Hummel Pet Services to provide a bi-monthly Pet Loss Support Group. The main goal of our group is to offer a safe, comfortable place where grieving pet parents can come to share their struggles of adjusting to life without their precious furbaby(s). Together we will share our pain but offer hope for healing as we walk the road together.
Group is FREE and meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday for every month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Hummel’s 3475 Copley Rd. Akron, OH 44321. Please register to attend by calling Hummel’s (330-247-1401) or GAPs (330-415-8879).

Soul Pet: Book Club is a facilitated group taking a deep dive into loss and grief through thoughtful discussions about books on death and possibility of an afterlife. We rotate between animal books and human books like A Dog’s Purpose, When Breath Becomes Air and Jack McAfghan: Reflections on Life with my Master. Fee is $10 per session. Soul Pet meets at Angel’s Paws, 11341 Grooms Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45242. Soul Pet meets every other Thursday from 6-8pm, typically 4 weeks per book with a social night in between sessions. Group meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Support group is held at Villa Angela Care Center, 5700 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229.
Another service has been added for the benefit of anyone who attends the group session once: that is support on a group we have set up on Facebook. Members can communicate with one another between sessions. It’s being used effectively.
