Excerpt from “Catnip for the Cat Lover’s Psyche”: “Toby’s Story–Paw Prints in the Snow.” Everything was white. Several inches of snow had fallen overnight, pristinely blanketing the small suburban town. Tranquility reigned and all was still–but wait, not all. The movement of something, which perfectly matched the newly fallen snow…a white cat, extremely frail and stick-like, with bones protruding from apparent near-starvation, slowly and laboriously trudged its way through the snow’s depth. It was clearly at death’s door, there was no doubt about that.

(Discover how the valiant Toby overcomes next in “The Catnip Days” and “Toby Comes Back–After Death Experiences”)
